Marietta Papachimona "Silent Cries"

The exhibition "Silent Cries" delves deep into the existential shadow of human experience, offering a stark and emotional reading of silence and trauma. The works, from a technical point of view, impress with their insistence on detail and philosophical gravity. Gauze and embroidery, combined with vintage frames, create an atmosphere of nostalgia and confinement, a constant reminder that the past is not easily released from the soul.

Enriched with the presence of flowers and insects, the works acquire a special metaphorical gravity, extending their meaning beyond the surface of the canvas. Although the women in the depictions seem to have silenced their voices, their silence raises the deepest questions. Using metaphorical and visual symbols, Papachimona aims to raise public awareness about the effects of gender-based violence on the psychology and social position of women
