ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

On Friday, June 17 at 8:00 PM, the opening of the "Once in France" exhibition will take place at the Imagine Visual Arts art space, with certified works by leading visual artists, ambassadors of the art that flourished in Paris during the years of intense artistic activity.

The exhibition, by a total of 37 artists from many countries who lived and worked in France, presents rarely published and certified works, sculptures, drawings and lithographs, of renowned creators of surrealism, lyrical and geometric abstraction, as well as constructivist sculpture, who marked their era, beyond the confines of nationality and beyond the constraints of a specific artistic movement.

Participating are: Giannis Gaitis (1923-1984), Dimitris E. Galanis (1879-1966), Giorgos Zongolopoulos (1903-2004), Vlasis Kaniaris (1928-2011), Nikos Kessanlis (1930-2004), Tita Kriezis (1930-2021), Aglaia Lymberaki (1923-1985), Giorgos Bouzianis (1885-1959), Petros Papaloizos (1927-1978), Alexandra Patsoglou (1944), Aristides Patsoglou (1941), Alkis Pierrakos (1920-2017), Gabriella Simosi (1926-1999), Gerasimos Sklavos (1927-1967), Vassilis Sperantzas (1938), Giannis Spyropoulos (1912-1990), Takis (Panagiotis Vassilakis) (1925-2019), Giannis Tsarouchis (1910 -1989), Thanos Tsigos (1914-1965), Alekos Fassianos (1935-2022), Nikos Hadjikyriakos Gikas (1906-1994), Claude Abeille (1930) (FR), Dino Abidin (1913-1993) (TR), Michel Adjar (1936) (FR), James Benenson (1949) (US), Michel Bérard (1933-2020) (FR), Simone Boisecq (1922-2012) (FR), César (1921-1998) (FR), René Collamarini (1904-1983) (FR), Juan Valladares Falen (1938-2019) (PE), Rachid Koraichi (1947) (DZ), Albert Marchais (1935) (FR), André Masson (1896-1987) (FR), Joan Miró (1893-1983) (ES), Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) (ES), Gouider Triki (1949) (TN), Mohamadou Mbaye Zulu (1954) (SN)

The artistic pedestal of that era in France, which moves between representation and abstraction, is deservedly defended by important creators as their works were integrated and recognized in the international fabric of Contemporary Art.

The exhibition is curated by Art Historian Eleni Gatsa.

At Imagine Visual Arts, we support artists by providing them with a space to showcase their work, with an emphasis on creativity and experimentation. We also collaborate with venues nationally and internationally, presenting museum-quality solo and group exhibitions of artists working in all media of the visual arts.
