A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

"Thalatta.Art" gallery presents the first solo exhibition of the talented painter Irina Kuzmenko entitled “SoS - Screams of Silence”. The exhibition, which is under the auspices of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Hellenic Republic, will be inaugurated on Thursday, November 2, at 7:00 PM, at the Christos Ladas Gallery 5-7 and will last until December 2, 2023.
Irina Kuzmenko, who has roots from both Ukraine and Greece, was born and raised near the city of Mariupol in Ukraine.
After settling in Greece in 2006, she continued her search for her identity through art. Her works draw inspiration from her homeland, which is going through difficult times due to the conflicts. Kuzmenko uses painting as a way to emotionally express her reaction to these critical moments.
The exhibition, curated by art historian Eleni Gatsa on behalf of magine visual arts, highlights the concept of transubstantiation in her works. According to the curator, the artist, starting from her personal experiences, uses elements and excerpts from places and moments that are important parts of her memories. With her works, she seeks to reconstruct and renew these

memories, creating a vivid narrative that explores human existence and attempts to express people's reaction to disasters. In a dramatic and emotional way, with a process of transformation through the brave act of painting, he urges us to approach the subject of war and the disasters it causes.
The exhibition opens a dialogue about human survival, personal development and the need to address the consequences of hostilities with conscience and compassion. In an era where peace is a precious value, art emerges as a powerful means to promote awareness and highlight the need for conflict prevention.
